Description:

A short-lived plant that can be extended through annual spring divisions.

 

Common Name: Cupid's Dart, Cupidome, Blue Succory
Botanical Name: Catananche
Type: Deciduous Perennial
Soil Preference: Tolerates drought and will grow in moist soils but prefers well-drained/loamy, sandy or clay soils with a pH of neutral to slightly alkaline (6.8 - 7.7)  Cupid's Dart is sensitive to humidity.
Light Requirements: Full sun
Attributes: Naturalizing, attracts butterflies, good cut flower, suitable for dried flowers
Pests: Thrips
Diseases: None serious
Care: Divide in spring to prolong plant life.  Fertilize with Plant-tone or a water-soluble fertilizer as recommended.
