Description:
They are easy to place, requiring only a sunny spot with average garden soil.  All are very heavy bloomers and cut well.  Give the thread-leaf types a hard shearing to promote re-bloom.  Blooms June to July with some blooming until fall. 


Coreopsis 'Little Sundial'

Common Name: Tickseed, Coreopsis
Botanical Name: Coreopsis
Type: Perennial
Soil Preference: Will tolerate some drought and some salt.   Will grow in dry to moist soil but prefers well-drained, loamy, sandy or clay soils.  The pH preference is neutral to slightly alkaline.
Light Requirements: Full Sun
Attributes: Good for naturalizing and wetlands.   Attracts birds & butterflies.  Suitable for cut flowers.  Very easy to grow!
Pests: Aphids, Beetles, Leaf Hoppers, Root Knot Nematodes
Diseases: Leaf Spot, Powdery Mildew, Bacterial Blight, Rust, Wilt, Crown Rot, Root Rot, Stem Rot
Good Companion Plants: Bellflower, Blanket Flower, Purple Coneflower, Delphinium, Gayfeather, Pennisetum, Lavender, Montbretia, Prairie Mallow, Red Hot Poker, Perennial Salvia, Speedwell, Stoke's Aster
Care: Dead-head spent blooms.  Cut back to basal foliage in the spring and fall.  Propagation is from cuttings, division and seeds.  Best propagation time is fall or spring.

Description:  Creme Brule is a wonderful addition to any sunny spot with its soft yellow flowers and bright green foliage. This coreopsis flowers from summer to fall and is a vigorous grower. It has demonstrated better resistance to powdery mildew.

Coreopsis 'Full Moon'

Description: After eight years of intensive breeding work with eight species of coreopsis, Darrell Probst is releasing the first plant in his Big Bang (TM) Series. 'Full Moon' is a showy hybrid with very large, canary yellow flowers that measure up to three inches across. They are held on well-branched stems atop a mound of healthy green, medium textured foliage. The plants are long blooming, from about midsummer into early fall. This is one of the taller kinds of coreopsis, so it is best situated towards the middle of the flower border.

This little beauty produces single, 1.5" diameter, golden yellow flowers with a deep maroon eye from early through late summer. Coreopsis 'Tequila Sunrise'

Description:  Introduced by Ken and Linda Smith of Columbus, Ohio.  The olive green leaves are heavily variegated with an irregular marking of creams and yellows. The new growth in the spring picks up a pinkish-red tint. In the fall, it takes on a darker mahogany color. Daisy-like yellow-orange flowers in early summer continue with some repeat blooming through September.
