Plants may be divided every 2-3 years in either
spring or fall and are also easily grown from seed. Do not remove the foliage from this plant until late fall as
this helps protect the plant. Cut back in August to encourage re-growth for better
winter survival and a second blooming in fall. Dead-head after flowering and cut back to
basal foliage in spring. Divide in spring if necessary. Fertilize with Plant-tone or
a water soluble fertilizer according to package directions. Always use 1/2 the

This fun new selection
of Blanket Flower has large, golden yellow flowers with fringed petals and a
prominent amber-red center. They add flair to cut flower bouquets and
provide continuous color in the landscape all summer long. Butterflies are
highly attracted to its bright colors. This perennial stands between 2
and 3 feet tall when it's in bloom, so it should be planted towards the rear
of the flower border. For a great combination, plant lower growing
perennials such as purple Bellflowers and Euphorbia 'Bonfire' in front of
your Gaillardia 'Amber Wheels'. |
