Description:
Heucherella is a hybrid genus produced from a cross between Heuchera and
Tiarella. Heucherellas grow most vigorously and have the stongest
colors when grown in partial shade (preferably afternoon shade). They can
also be grown in full shade but their growth rate will be very slow.
These are very pretty planted in the shade garden with other shade lovers
such as Hosta, Astilbe and Coral Bells.

Heucherella 'Alabama Surprise'
Foamy Bells
zones 4-9
|
| Description:
Terra Nova's first
Heucherella introduction that is a H. villosa hybrid! Why is this
significant? The villosa species is more heat and drought
tolerant, making this an ideal selection for regions with hot, steamy
summers. There are plenty of other reasons to fall in love with this new
Heucherella: very large, deeply incised, brilliantly colored leaves and a
vigorous, robust habit. In spring, the leaves are gold with sharply
contrasting red veining. This color remains throughout most of the summer,
then greens up a bit but retains the red veining. In the fall and winter,
the evergreen foliage turns a warm shade of orange-pink. Small white
flowers are produced in late spring and early summer. |

| Description:
'Kimono' produces two different sets of leaves. In the spring, deeply

copper-rose color in the fall and winter. Wispy cream-colored flowers
