Myosotis


Description:

These small plants have long leaves and petite flowers borne on top of the stems.  A must for the biennial grower!  They are best planted with spring flowering bulbs such as tulips, daffodils and hyacinths to easily transist from spring to summer.

 

Common Name: Forget-Me-Not
Botanical Name: Myosotis
Type: Perennial, Biennial
Soil Preference: Will grow in moist to wet soil but prefers well-drained soil with a neutral pH (7.0)  Myosotis is also sensitive to humidity
Light Requirements: Full sun, partial sun, partial shade
Attributes: Naturalizing.  Uses: rock garden, woodland garden, border, massing, ground cover
Pests: Red spider mites
Diseases: Powdery mildew, leaf rot
Good Companion Plants: Astilbe, Heartleaf Bergenia, Coral Bells, Hosta, Lady's Mantle, Primrose
Care: Divide in spring if necessary or harvest seeds in fall.   Dead-head after blooming.  Fertilize with Plant-tone, Flower-tone or a water-soluble fertilizer.
