Description: Phlox is an old-fashioned favorite! Gardens, both old and new, can benefit from their brilliant colors during the summer months. This is a class of flowers unsurpassed with its new colors, larger sizes and mildew resistance.

Soil Preference:	Moist, well-drained, loamy or sandy soils with a pH of neutral to slightly alkaline (7.0 or above)
Light Requirements:	Full sun
Attributes:	Attracts birds, fragrant
Pests:	Some varieties are bothered by slugs, snails, spider mites and rabbits
Diseases:	Powdery mildew, root rot
Good Companion Plants:	Coneflower, Daylily, Perennial Salvia, Shasta Daisy
Care:	Plants can be lifted and divided in the spring and fall. Periodic pruning until mid-summer will produce more stems and a later blooming plant. Spray plants with sulfur every few weeks to prevent powdery mildew. Fertilize with Holly-tone or a water soluble fertilizer as recommended.
