Soil Preference: Tolerates drought and occasional wetness and will grow in dry to wet soils but prefers well-drained/loamy, sandy or clay soils with a pH of acidic to alkaline.
Light Requirements: Full sun, partial sun, partial shade
Attributes: Pest tolerant; makes a good street tree, screen, specimen or espalier
Pests: Relatively pest free but Japanese Beetles may sometimes chew on the foliage.
Diseases: None extremely serious but leaf spots, canker and powdery mildew may sometimes infect the tree
Care: Little or no pruning is required for this tree.   Fertilize with Holly-tone, Plant-tone or a water-soluble fertilizer according to the directions.
