Spice Bush

Description:
Spice Bush is a large shrub best suited for the back of the shrub border or to be featured for its fall foliage colors.  It is named "Spicebush" because of its pleasing aroma when bruised. 

 

Common Name: Spice Bush, Spice Bush Tree
Botanical Name: Lindera
Type: Deciduous shrub
Growth Rate: Slow
Soil Preference: Lindera tolerates occasionally wet soil and will grow in well-drained/loamy, sandy or clay soils with a pH of acidic to alkaline
Light Requirements: Full sun, partial sun, partial shade
Attributes: Pest tolerant, attracts birds & butterflies, plants serve as hosts for butterfly larvae, likes moist soils
Pests: None serious
Diseases: None serious
Care: Fertilize with Holly-tone or Plant-tone as recommended.
