Description:
An evergreen shrub or vine that is best used on a trellis or as an espalier.  The bright orange-red berries in late summer are what makes this plant most attractive.
Common Name: Pyracantha, Garden Pyracantha
Botanical Name: Firethorn
Type: Evergreen shrub
Soil Preference: Prefers moist, well-drained soil with a pH of acidic to alkaline (any pH)
Light Requirements: Full sun, partial sun, partial shade
Attributes: Berries
Pests: Aphids, scales, spider mites
Diseases: none serious
Care: Fertilize with Plant-tone, Holly-tone or a water soluble fertilizer as recommended.
