calleryana 'Aristocrat'™
Flowering Pear, Callery Pear
zones 5-9
|
| Description:
A pyramidal Pear with white flowers in early May. Purplish-red fall
color. Broader than other Callery Pears. This variety is quite
adaptable and is well suited as a street tree or in other restricted soil
spaces. The more dominant trunk and open form of Aristocrat makes it
less susceptible to wind damage than Bradford. Brownish tan fruits do
develop but they are inconspicuous. |

'Bradford'
Flowering Pear
zones 5-9
|
| Description:
Green summer foliage turns to red, purple, orange and yellow by fall. White
flowers bloom early spring. 'Bradford' shows the best resistance to
fire blight in studies, however, because of inferior branch structure, they
tend to "fall apart" during storms once they reach 20-30 years old.
Brownish tan fruits do develop but they are inconspicuous. **because of it's
week wood, we no longer sell this cultivar |

'Cleveland Select'
Flowering Pear
zones 5-9
|
| Description:
Bears more white blooms than most other types. Forms an upright, columnar,
ovate shaped tree. Green summer foliage turns to red-purple by fall.
This pear has a superior branch structure that withstands ice and wind
damage better than Bradford. It is also fruitless and has few pest
problems. It will also tolerate urban conditions and heavy clay soils.
