Description: 
C
hosen as a 1991 Gold Medal Plant by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society for being a plant of exceptional merit, but underused in landscaping.  The orange peeling bark on these evergreen trees is quite attractive but usually hidden by the foliage.  Provide protection from the wind.  Slow growth rate.

Soil Preference: Tolerates drought and will grow in dry soil.  Prefers well-drained soil with an acidic pH.

Description:  Rare and unusual.  Branches become more pendulous with age.  The peeling orange bark is quite attractive but hidden by the foliage.  Provide a moist, acidic soil with protection from the wind.
