Description:

Masses of deep pink flowers create an ostrich plume effect in summer on this hardy shrub. Foliage is soft and feathery. Cut back almost to the ground each winter to improve its flowering display and growth habit. Ideal for creating a colorful splash in any sunny border!

 
Common Name: Tamarisk, Salt Cedar
Botanical Name: Tamarix
Type: Deciduous Shrub
Soil Preference: Tolerates drought, salt and dry soils very well.  Prefers well-drained soil with a pH of acidic to slightly alkaline.
Light Requirements: Full Sun
Attributes: Deer resistant, rabbit resistant
Pests: n/a
Diseases: Canker, mildew, root rot
Care:

Likes to be cut to the ground each and every winter to keep the plant small and improve it's flowering display. Fertilize with Holly-tone as recommended.
