Ornamental Trees to Consider for the Home Landscape

There is a large pallette of worthwhile ornamental trees to consider
but many are frequently overlooked. Tom will discuss many of these
little known, underused, beautiful and interesting trees and how to
incorporate them into the landscape.

Rock Gardening
Speaker: Chuck Gleaves, Kingwood Center
“All gardeners become rock gardeners if they garden long enough...”
or so said Elizabeth Lawrence. The prediction has proven true for Chuck
Gleaves whose wide ranging interests in gardening of all sorts has now
incorporated rock gardening. Chuck will present a history of rock
gardening, a history of his rock gardening, and an explanation of why he
finds it so gratifying. He will speak primarily of plants and techniques
that work in this climate and under these (reasonably modified) growing
conditions. Chuck is a life long gardener with a career working for
public gardens. He is currently the Director at Kingwood Center in
Mansfield, Ohio where he has been for the last 14 years.

Gardening Trends

Horticulture at the Cleveland Botanical Garden, will be discussing some
of the newest cultivars of select perennials and annuals that you should
be planting in your yards along with general garden trends in the
industry.
