Silver Mound/
Wormwood

Artemisia

Description:
A fragrant, lacy plant grown for it's silvery foliage.  It is also a nice accent to fresh or dried flower arrangements or in containers of annuals.

Common Name: Wormwood, Silver Sage, Silver Mound, Sagebrush, Mugwort
Botanical Name: Artemisia
Type: Perennial
Soil Preference: This plant tolerates some drought, some salt and will grow in moist soil but prefers a well-drained or sandy soil with a pH of neutral to slightly alkaline (6.8-7.7)
Light Requirements: Sun to Partial Shade
Attributes: Good for the border or as a ground cover
Pests: Aphids, Mealybugs, Scales, Leafhoppers, Vine Weevils, Spider Mites, Slugs
Diseases: Powdery Mildew, Leaf Blight, Rusts, Root Rot
Good Companion Plants: Aster, Blue-Eyed Grass, Purple Coneflower, Coral Bells, Hardy Geranium, Black-Eyed-Susan, Lamb's Ear, Stonecrop, Yarrow
Care: Division can be done in the fall or spring.   Do not remove the foliage until spring because the spent leaves act as a winter protectant.
