Description:

Most are fairly easy culture, preferring a moderately rich, well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade.  Good drainage will ensure a large display of their bell-shaped flowers.   Keep watered in the summer and fertilize regularly.  You must dead-head flowers for continuous blooming.  Blooms July to September.

Soil Preference: This plant requires well drained soils!   The pH preference is neutral to slightly alkaline. (6.8-7.7)
Light Requirements: Full sun to partial shade
Attributes: Deer Resistant, Good cut flower, Will grow in moist soils, Attracts hummingbirds
Pests: Slugs and Snails
Diseases: Powdery Mildew
Good Companion Plants: Balloon Flower, Bugleweed, Coreopsis, Daylily, Hardy Geranium, Ice Plant, Tall Bearded Iris, Moneywort, Pinks, Speedwell
Care: Dead-head spent blooms. Requires division.
Fertilize with Plant-tone, Osmocote or Miracle Gro.

Campanula carpatica 'Bavaria Blue'

Description:  This variety's mat-forming characteristics makes it ideal for edging, rock gardens or as a container plant.  It's deep green foliage is an ideal backdrop for it's gorgeous sky blue flowers.  Rabbit and deer resistant.  Attracts hummingbirds.

Campanula carpatica 'Blue Clips'

Description:  'Blue Clips' displays an attractive mound of green leaves and large violet-blue cup-shaped flowers.  Once in bloom, remove faded flowers to promote additional flowering.  A low growing spreading plant. Ideal for sunny borders or rock gardens.

Description: A nice addition to a country style garden!  Bears hundreds of cherry pink/red tubular bell-shaped flowers starting in July.    Re-blooms if flowers are dead-headed and old stems are removed.  A compact and spreading form.

Campanula x 'Birch Hybrid'

Description:  This plant has a tidy habit with nodding, cup-shaped purple-blue flowers.  Excellent for walls, crevices and rock gardens.  Try it with Blue Fescue or other shorter grasses for a great effect! Also attracts hummingbirds!   This variety does best in full sun, but grows and blooms in partial shade.  A great, little care-free plant!

Description:  Drooping blue flowers are cup-shaped.  This variety attracts butterflies.  Bears more insect and disease problems than other types:   aphids, thrips, snails, slugs, nematodes, crown rot, leaf spots, powdery mildew, rot and rust.

Campanula carpatica 'Pearl Deep Blue'

Description:  A profusion of cup-shaped, 2 inch wide vivid blue flowers float above the dark green foliage from late spring to late summer if dead-headed regularly.  The plant forms a uniform clump making it a good choice for edging, containers, border or rock garden.   Prefers cool roots so be sure to mulch in summer.

Campanula punctata 'Plum Wine'

Description:  Large, bell-shaped pink flowers are produced atop tall stems from early through late summer if dead-headed.  Large, serrated leaves held on maroon petioles are olive green with a thin silver overlay on top and burgundy below.

Campanula 'Sarastro'
Bluebells of Scotland, Bellflower

Description:  From Sarastro Nursery in Austria! Often referred to as a shorter form of 'Kent Belle'. It grows to 18 inches with large icy grape flowers that dangle in abundance. Unlike is aforementioned cousin, it spreads nicely by way of underground rhizomes and will re-bloom four to five times per season. This plant also has better branching with a more upright habit.

Description:  'White Clips' is a compact cultivar which grows to only 6-8" tall.  Flowers are pure white and upward facing and shallow like a cup. A sparse re-bloom sometimes continues throughout the summer to early fall, especially in cool summer climates.
