Description:
A whimsical head-turner that provides terrific architectural interest.  Leaves are wound in tight, upright spirals when they emerge then begin to relax as they mature.  Plant it in a spot where it can be appreciated up close.   Also makes a great bog plant.

 
Common Name: Corkscrew Rush, Ornamental Grass
Botanical Name: Juncus
Type: Ornamental Grass
Soil Preference: Juncus is perfect for the waterside and other consistantly moist or wet sites, preferably with rich, acidic soil. It will grow in shallow water no deeper than 3 inches. Though it prefers partial shade, Juncus will also grow in full sun if given adequate moisture. 
Light Requirements: Full Sun to Partial Shade
Attributes: Bog plant, deer resistant
Pests: No major pests or diseases bother this plant.
Diseases: No major pests or diseases bother this plant.
Companion Plants: Astilbe, Acorus, Hosta, Ligularia, Rose Mallow, Cimicifuga, Asclepias, Chelone

Description:  This guaranteed head turner provides terrific architectural interest in mixed container plantings or in the garden. The hollow, cylindrical leaves are wound in tight, upright spirals when they emerge, then begin to relax as they mature. A distinctive yellow stripe runs the entire length of the green leaf. The foliage forms a whimsical clump that spreads at a slow to moderate pace. Plant it in a spot where it can be appreciated up close. In early summer, insignificant green flowers are produced. Use the foliage in either fresh or dried arrangements.
