Description:

Small pink flowers bloom on this ground cover in early spring.  Plant in a sunny spot with well-drained soil and prune after flowering for a healthier plant.  A good plant to use with your spring flowering bulbs such as Tulips and Daffodils.
 
Common Name: Creeping Phlox, Flowering Moss, Moss Phlox, Ground Pink, Moss Pinks
Botanical Name: Phlox subulata
Type: Ground Cover Perennial
Soil Preference: This plant tolerates some drought and a little salt and will grow in moist soils but prefers well-drained/loamy or sandy soils with a pH of acidic to alkaline (6.8-7.7)
Light Requirements: Full Sun
Attributes: Often used as a ground cover, an edging plant or for planting in cracks and walls.  Good for naturalizing an area.
Pests: Spider mites and rabbits
Diseases: Stem and root rot, Leaf spot, Anthracnose, Gray Mold, Wilt, Powdery Mildew
Good Companion Plants: Heartleaf Bergenia, Dwarf Iris, Lamb's Ear, Snow-in-Summer, Cushion Spurge
Care: Fertilize every 4 months with slow-release Osmocote or fertilize every few weeks with Plant-tone or Miracle Gro.   Prune after flowering for a healthier plant.

Propagation is from cuttings and division.  Best propagation time is in the fall and spring.
