Description:
An undemanding tree that is fruitless and will grow in full sun or light shade and prefers moist, well-drained, acidic soils.  It is also tolerant of wind, drought and salt.
Common Name: Red Horsechestnut, Ruby Red Horsechestnut
Botanical Name: Aesculus
Type: Deciduous Tree
Growth Rate: Slow
Soil Preference: Will tolerate drought, some wetness and some salt but prefers a soil that is well-drained/loamy, sandy or clay with a pH of acidic to slightly alkaline (less than 7.0 - 7.7)
Light Requirements: Full sun
Attributes: Pest tolerant
Pests: None of major concern
Diseases: None of major concern
Care: Pruning is not recommended while the tree is young. 
The bark may crack if it is exposed to direct sun so leave the lower branches.   Fertilize with Holly-tone or a water-soluble fertilizer as recommended.

Description:  Will make a very nice round to broad-round tree reaching a height of 25-50'.  The attractive, rose-red flowers bloom in June atop the lustrous green leaves. 'Briotti' is fruitless, so it makes no mess in the landscape.
