Description:

Bog Rosemary is a small evergreen shrub that is related to Rhododendrons and Azaleas and should be cared for in the same way.    But, unlike Rhoodendrons and Azaleas, it will thrive in moist soils or peat moss bogs with an acidic pH.

 

Common Name: Bog Rosemary
Botanical Name: Andromeda
Type: Evergreen Shrub
Growth Rate: Fast
Soil Preference: Will grow in wet or submerged soils but prefers a moist, sandy soil with and acidic pH.  (less than 7.0)
Light Requirements: Full sun, partial sun, partial shade
Attributes: Rock garden,
Pests: None serious
Diseases: None serious
Care: Make sure this plant stays moist... it will not tolerate dry summer heat.  Fertilize with Holly-tone as recommended to keep the soil at an acidic level.
