Description:
A tree ideal for wet locations but will also grow in almost any other type of soil with an acidic pH.   Bald Cypress is also relatively maintenance free because of it's little or no pruning requirements and pest tolerance.
Common Name: Bald Cypress, Common Bald Cypress, Baldcypress
Botanical Name: Taxodium
Type: Deciduous tree
Growth Rate: Fast
Soil Preference: Bald Cypress tolerates drought, flooding, ozone and salt  and will grow in dry to wet soils as well as well-drained, loamy, sandy or clay soils with a pH of acidic to slightly alkaline.  (less than 7.5)
Light Requirements: Full sun, partial sun, partial shade
Attributes: Likes moist soils, pest tolerant, attracts butterflies
Pests: Bagworms, mites
Diseases: Twig blight, Stereum taxodi fungi
Care: Fertilize with Plant-tone, Holly-tone or a water soluble fertilizer as recommended.
