Description:
A group of hardy native American plants that are well worth giving a spot in the garden!
Their flowers provide a strong vertical effect, and their color is brilliant in
shades of blue, purple, pink and white. They are unusual in that their flower spikes
are open from the top down rather than in the reverse, which is more common. |

Dead-head spent flowers after blooming and cut back to ground
level in fall. Divide in spring if necessary. Seeds are produced in late
