Spring Application

Pelletized Lime or Encap Fast Acting Lime

• Pelletized lime can be applied every other year (approx. 15 pounds per 1,000 sq. ft.) once you have your soil PH to its optimum level which is between 6.0 and 6.5.  A soil test should first be taken to determine current soil pH before applying lime.

Frequently Asked Questions:

1. What fertilizer should I use when seeding my lawn?
   If you are not concerned about preventing crabgrass, we suggest using Greenview's Starter Fertilizer or Fall Lawn Food.  Both will promote root growth of the new grass seedlings.  If you are concerned about preventing crabgrass, apply Greenview's Seed Starter plus Crabgrass Preventer.  This product "knows" the difference between grass seed and other germinating weed seeds.

2. Do I have to apply all 4-steps of a 4-step lawn care program?
   No, in fact, we now carry a professional-formula 2-step lawn care program with crabgrass prevention, weed killers and slow-release fertilizers for season-long feeding.

3. Do I have to use a spreader to apply lawn fertilizer?
   We recommend using a spreader to apply lawn fertilizer as this will equally distribute the fertilizer over the lawn.
