The Winter Months

The months of November and December are all about poinsettias, trees and the holiday season.

Winter brings a completely different product line to the nursery.  We concentrate our efforts on the holidays which includes growing and fattening poinsettias for our customers and local churches, cutting fresh branches at Galehouse Tree Farm to create our hand-made cemetery blankets and awaiting the delivery of fresh cut Ohio trees, live wreaths and roping to decorate your home with that fresh pine scent.  We also create greens arrangments, porch pots and winter hanging baskets.

Closing Down

After the holidays wind down, we close the nursery for the entire months of January and February to concentrate on various projects, deep cleaning, remodeling, growing, propagation and a plethora of office work creating and reconciling purchase orders, creating signs for new plants, designing the next year’s color catalog and updates to the ever-changing website.

Winter Seminar Series

Our favorite time of the winter is the start of our annual Winter Seminar Series!  New topics are presented from new and returning speakers.

Our seminars are presented inside the Owl Barn, just adjacent to the main garden center store.  The barn is decorated inside with tongue and groove pine barn siding along 26’ high walls.  The large windows let in an abundance of natural light. Refreshments, restrooms and tables are provided for your comfort.

Seating is limited so please be sure to sign up as soon as you can!
