Seeding a new lawn in can be done any time during the year, but
September is the absolute best. The cooler temperatures and shorter periods of light
promote good root masses in grass plants and typically, we can count on more rain and
heavier morning dew. Another advantage to planting in the fall is that many annual
weeds are finished with, meaning less competition for the grass seedlings.
