Greenview Lawn Fertilizers

Here at Dayton’s, we suggest Greenview lawn fertilizers with GreenSmart technology. Below are the suggested spreader settings for each of the 4 steps plus the starter fertilizer as of the fall of 2017:

Lime

Pelletized lime should be applied every other year (approximately 15 lbs./1,000 ft²) once you have your soil pH to its optimum level, which is between 6.0 and 6.5. A soil test should be taken to determine where your soil pH is now. Be sure to keep a two week separation between lime and fertilizers containing Nitrogen, because lime and nitrogen cancel each other out.   The best time to apply lime is around November 15th.

12-12-12 Fertilizer

For best results:

Apply 5 times a year – Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day and Halloween.  Apply to dry grass.  Water in well after application if possible. Delay or reduce July 4th application if fertilizer cannot be watered in.

Amount to apply:

For established lawns, apply 4 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. When building a new lawn, apply 6-8 lbs. per 1,000 ft². Work into top 2-3 inches of soil, apply seed, lightly roll and keep moist until germination.
